The Gift of Giving

 The Gift of Giving

Firstly...
Happy Birthday, Guzel

This week in the Fox Class we learned all about giving!

First we discussed who could use gifts when we read the book
The Quilt maker's Gift...
and discussed why we might give gifts when we watched the video

We learned about how easy it can be to give gifts by just using our words to give a compliment and we wrote them down on hearts. We then placed them all around the school so that we could give gifts to everyone in the entire school!

Their compliments they wanted to write:

We learned how to NOT behave when someone gives you a gift you did not want with the book:
When Grandma Gives You a Lemon Tree

In the classroom we played gingerbread shape matching games, made patterned candy canes, decorated snowflakes, used chalk to make winter pictures, and drew a picture of who we would give a gift to and what would it be in our journals.

We made gifts for our families and took some new wonderful smiling headshots thinking of how much we love our families:

And finally we cut and decorated snowflakes in Art:

If you happen to be in the building soon, please check out our creative and hilarious all school winter board by the carpool doors!
