About Miss Erica

Hello! Let's start from the beginning! When my parents met they ran away together on a motorcycle headed to Florida (Good! I seriously dislike how cold it is in Michigan)! Along the way, they stopped in St. Louis to visit family and never left! So here I am, 30+ years later, loving my life in St. Louis!
My parents enrolled me in the St. Louis desegregation program which allowed me and my sister the opportunity to attend Ladue School. (Woo!). I even attended the half-day kindergarten program at the LECC when it was provided.

After high school, I moved to central Illinois to attend Illinois State University. The Early Childhood Department provided me with many opportunities to become a well-rounded educator. I was accepted into the Professional Development Program, which gave me two years of in-class, hands-on teaching experience. My first year was at the Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten levels while my entire second year was spent in 2nd grade.
Being that I came from a diverse background, I find joy in celebrating diversity is whatever way possible. I spent three years of my college experience mentoring inner city students in Chicago and aiding the development of diversity programs at the early childhood level around my university. I am currently a member of our districts Diversity Committee as well as the LECC’s Diversity Committee. In 2016, I obtained a Masters of art in Literacy Education from Maryville University.

About Miss Fay!

Hello!
I am so happy to be in the Fox class again this year and am so grateful to work with all of your amazing children. This will be my 4th year working for Ladue and the Ladue Early Childhood Center.

I grew up in the beautiful state of North Carolina and moved to St. Louis my junior year of high school. My greatest joy in life was spending time with my four children but in 2019 I became a grandma and my grandson is now my greatest joy! I only wish he lived closer to me. I am blessed with two girls and two boys and they have been the greatest teachers of my life. I enjoy reading and gardening in my spare time.

I am the oldest of five children and am lucky enough that they all live within thirty minutes of my home. My favorite neighbor is my mom who lives a few houses down from me. I'm also looking forward to my sons getting married this year and hoping for more grandbabies!!!
